Exhilarating Substance within the GBI Curriculum

The first three weeks will consist of an earth-shattering survey of Biblical truth that will set the framework for the remainder of the year. Lord willing, this will be a time of critical and renewed thinking for the students as the Holy Spirit reveals the pristine landscape of His revelation in Scripture. This will be followed by a week of traversing the oftentimes rough terrain of how to correctly interpret the Bible in view of all the divergent theologies within the Christian community. The students will then spend a week wrestling with competing, but barren, worldviews that will serve to solidify their commitment to the historical Christian worldview. Finally, the sixth week will provide an exhaustive look into true & satisfying masculinity and femininity as defined by the Designer of men and women. These first six weeks will be rightly called, “Surviving the Impact.” For some students, the truth of the supremacy of God in all things will inevitably collide with their own man-centered conception of reality. The staff of GBI will definitely labor and pray that students will survive the impact and discover the lusciousness of the centrality of the glory of God in Christ.

After this blazing and provocative beginning to the school year, we will then dig deep into the Bible to carefully test what was introduced in the first six weeks. We hope students will be increasingly convinced of and captivated by these truths as we provide 16 separate modules for their enrichment. The following books will be mined for treasure: Genesis, Matthew, Acts, Romans (three weeks), Psalms (two weeks), 1 Peter, John, 1 John, Isaiah, Hosea – Malachi (the twelve Minor Prophets), Ephesians, 1 Corinthians, Hebrews (two weeks), Luke, 1 & 2 Timothy, and Titus. In addition, the “Old Testament Israel” module, which is scheduled before delving into the Old Testament prophets, will be a survey of Exodus through Nehemiah.

Our study of Church History will not only consist of a brief survey of turning points in the history of Christ’s Church, but will also zoom into the life of the God-entranced Jonathan Edwards. Moreover, during one week, students will be introduced to five separate heavyweights from the past as a springboard to a discussion on contemporary relevant issues.

Grizzly Bible Institute will be significantly missions-minded. Besides being a backdrop in numerous other modules, two separate weeks will be appointed to delve into the worthwhile issues surrounding the spread of God's fame to all peoples in the world.

The study of the last days is a mind-boggling subject. While Grizzly Bible Institute will not explicitly commend a specific system of eschatology, this one week study should prove beneficial to the students in the formulation of their thinking regarding the return of Jesus Christ.

Two sporadic weeks will be set apart during the 35 week program for the select purpose of providing electrifying daily classes to cultivate skills of discernment within the students. The content of these classes will vary and encompass subjects that cannot be given proper attention in other modules.

As the year concludes, students will spend their final week being inspired by five separate missionaries who willingly made the sacrifice to love people by spreading the truth and beauty of Jesus Christ in foreign lands. This will surely be a springboard for the imminent missions trip for the students.

Besides the normal workload, each student will be responsible to read Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology by the end of the school year. This will serve to at least introduce additional & alternative thoughts to the student.

There will also be an optional one-year introduction to New Testament Greek for interested students. Hopefully, this can be a primer for further study of the original languages.
