Grizzly Bible Institute Staff

The staff of Grizzly Bible Institute will be an indispensable element in the daily life of the institute. They will enthusiastically embrace and display the mission statement for GBI. That is, they will have a thoughtful and delightful passion for the supremacy of God, through Jesus Christ, in all things.

With their close proximity to the students, all GBI staff will be expected to pursue purity in all extramarital contacts and to remain above reproach at all times. There also must be a willingness among staff to sacrifice personal time & luxuries in order to maximize their influence in the lives of the students. Moreover, Biblical masculinity and femininity must be visible in ways appropriate to the individual staff's differing relationships.

All Grizzly Bible Institute staff will be on the same wavelength when it comes to our Four Paw Approach, The Five Claws of Grizzly Theology, and the Statement of Faith. Furthermore, GBI staff must already, in large measure, meet the expectations outlined on the "Reasonable Expectations” link on this website.

GBI staff will be eager to interact with students regarding the curriculum being studied for that respective week and its implications for their lives. Specifically, it will be the responsibility of each single staff person to disciple 4 students of the same sex. This will entail 3+ hours a week with each student. Other tasks available to all staff include: teaching, missions trip preparation, outdoor activities organization & implementation, fundraising and other administrative work. While there will be a hefty load for most GBI staff, there certainly will be less responsibility for the married women staff with children. In addition, all staff will be expected to give priority to their personal communion with God and to family above their responsibilities with the Institute.

If you would like to inquire about being on our staff team, please do not hesitate to inquire about future positions available at GBI.

Current positions to be filled by spring/summer 2009:

Single staff: 2 men and 2 women whose primary responsibility will be living with and discipling 4 students of the same sex throughout the school year. Along with discipleship, the 2 male staff will be expected to teach a few class modules. While not required, the 2 female staff certainly will also have the opportunity to teach if they so desire. In addition to discipleship and teaching, the single staff will coordinate the outdoor activities department of the Institute. The single staff will also lead/accompany groups of students when they set out for their 6-week missions trip.

Married staff: 1 married couple whose primary responsibility will be teaching (required for the husband), missions trip coordination, fundraising, and other administrative work. If the wife has children, no doubt her expected workload will be significantly lighter than her husband.

A Word from the GBI Director

To be sure, Grizzly Bible Institute is not indispensable in the whole scheme of things. God's purposes would certainly proceed infallibly with or without GBI. Nevertheless, it would be sheer pleasure to observe God create something out of nothing in regard to Grizzly Bible Institute. If God brings GBI into existence, the only fitting response will be: "only God could have done this; all glory belongs to Him!" It would then be exhilarating to be surrounded by like-minded staff who are captivated with the supremacy of God, the glory of Jesus Christ, and the Christ-glorifying, life-giving & sustaining work of the Holy Spirit. Finally, it would be doubly exhilarating to see young adults leave GBI transformed and eager to display the centrality of God in all of life.
