Discipleship is the daily, genuine, and patient outpouring of one believer’s life into all the life of another believer, for the worthwhile purpose of their ongoing spiritual maturity displayed in their passionate affection for the Lord Jesus Christ and glad-hearted obedience to His will for all of life.

Indeed, discipleship is a noble concept. Often, it is listed in the plethora of ministries of a local church. Nevertheless, it requires much labor. Invariably there is frustration. Hence, it is often given mere lip service. Or it is watered-down to the degree that it becomes very superficial.

We, at Grizzly Bible Institute, are firmly resolved, by God's grace, to pour our lives into the lives of GBI students. Each single staff member will have 4 students of the same sex to disciple throughout the school year. There will be at least 3 meetings a week with each student in order to wrestle together with the subject matter for that respective week. Thus, there will be specific perimeters for the staff & student interaction. This will help guarantee that these times don't spiral out-of-control into meaningless conversations. At the same time, there will be sufficient freedom given to pursue other relevant subject matter when needed.

Another function of the discipleship wing of Grizzly Bible Institute is to evaluate the overall progress of each student. There will be every effort given to ensure that students don't miss the forest because of the trees. Woe to us, if students can give eloquent answers to our distinctive questions, and yet they are not being transformed more & more into deep and delightful lovers of Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, students must be held accountable for the knowledge they are asked to assimilate. As a result, GBI staff will play an important role in evaluating the academic progress of each student.

With the missions trip looming at the end of the school year, staff will be influential in assisting students in the preparation for this life-changing trip. This will be a prime opportunity for staff to come alongside the students and help guide them through all the nitty-gritty details of the trip. Staff will also be pivotal during and after the trip, as they help the students digest the implications of global missions for the rest of their lives.

When students leave GBI, the tendency would be to lose contact with them. To combat this, there will be special attention paid to maintain lines of communication with graduates for the purpose of encouragement & exhortation.

It is the desire of Grizzly Bible Institute that, by God’s enabling grace, students are not only effectively discipled by the staff, but also that they are inspired to carry on the torch by discipling other believers as they depart GBI and serve Jesus for the rest of their lives.
