Outdoor Activities
Since Grizzly Bible Institute resides in a stellar location (Edgewood, New Mexico) there will be a structured outdoors program for the students. While exercise, fresh air, and relationship building will be purposes, the main purpose of the outdoor program at GBI will be to teach valuable spiritual lessons to the students. There is indeed much from the outdoor setting and experience that can be transposed to the spiritual lives of the students, and thus bring much glory to our Creator, Jesus Christ.
All able-bodied students and staff will be expected to participate in the outdoors program. The program will consist of weekly activities and two class trips. The weekly activities will include options such as hiking, mountain biking, running, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, golfing, basketball & other common sports. Students will participate in a combination of these activities on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and a few Saturdays a month. The two class trips will be taken on extended weekends (September 17-19, 2009 & May 7-9, 2010). Moreover, smaller groups of students and staff will certainly be encouraged to engage in additional activities when there is sufficient time.
